    Abstract   PDF (3653KB) ( 706 )
The dislocation substructure of directionally solidified DS Rene 80superalloy during tensile deformation and during creep deformation has been studied byTEM. In tensile deformation, γ' shearing occurs by slip of APB-coupled 1/2<110>dislocation pairs on {111} planes at temperature below 760℃, and by slip ofSISF separated 1/3<112> superpartials which have dissociated on {111} planes intoa 1/2<110> screw superpartial and a 1/6<112> edge superpartial with an APB inbetween at temperatures above or equal to 760℃. In creep deformation, γ' shearingoccurs again by slip of SISF-separated 1/3<112> superpartials which have not dis-sociated on {111} planes and by diffusive slip of APB-coupled 1/2<110> disloca-tion pairs at 760℃ under a stress of 618 MPa. However, no γ' shearing occurs at980℃ under a stress of 190 MPa. During secondary creep at 760℃, 618 MPa orat 980℃, 190 MP8, walls of dislocations have been formed at γ/γ' interfaces, strainis controlled by climb of 2-dimensional dislocation netwotks at γ/γ' interfaces. The dependence of secondary creep rate, ε, upon size, α, and volume fraction, V_f,of cubic γ' has been found to be ε ∝ α/V_f~(2/3).

    Acta Metall Sin, 1989, 25 (5): 19-24.
    Abstract   PDF (1740KB) ( 509 )
An investigation was made of the influence of Zr addition on the hightemperature phase transformation, the martensitic forward-and-back transformationand the shape memory effect of a Cu-Zn-Al base alloy by means of the differen-tial scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction and TEM. An addition of 0.35wt-% Zr may effectively inhibit the precipitation of α and γ phases and facilitatethe order transformation β_2→DO_3→18RM. It was observed that the M_s—M_f and A_s—A_f temperature ranges of the alloy are rather narrow, its activation energy ofmartensitic transformation is minimum and its interface between two martensitevariants is more mobile, thus, its shape memory effect is the optimum.

    Abstract   PDF (1920KB) ( 565 )
The mechanical properties and structure of bainite and martensite af-ter tempered in 6-5-4-2 high speed steel have been investigated. It was found thatthe secondary hardening effect and resistance to heat softening as well as impacttoughness are higher in the bainite than in the martensite. TEM observations showthat the Fe_3C precipitated in the martensite after temrering at the temperaturenear the peak of hardening-tempering temperature curve. However, no Fe_3C but thedispersive MC and M_2C precipitated in the ferrite and austenite of bainite aftertempering at the same temperature. This shows the diffusion of alloy elements form-ing carbide must be taken during the process of bainite growing.

    Abstract   PDF (2592KB) ( 831 )
The equal-width lath-shaped Zn_2Zr_3 phase and the irregular lumpMgZn_2 phase were observed in the Zr- and Zn-enriched nucleus region and along thegrain boundaries of the as-cast alloy. The very fine ZnZr_2 phase occurs in thegrains and the supsr fine MgZn phase disperses in the α-Mg solid solution. In extrudedshapes, the coarse grains of Zn_2Zr_3 Phase and a great many dispersedly distributedZrH_2 phase and MgZn_2 phase particles appear in the Zr- and Zn-enriched lathregion. They are played an important role in impeding the proceeding of recrystal-lization. The precipitation of Mg_2Zn_3 Phase may be led to the non-lath region byageing at 170℃ for 10h.

    Abstract   PDF (2259KB) ( 475 )
Using a pulse magnetic field heat treatment equipment with low me-dium intensity made by ourself, the tempering process of high speed steel W6Mo5Cr4V2 was inverstigated. It was found that the secondary hardening process andthe transformation of retained austenite for the steel were accelerated by the pulsemagnetic field, and the tempering period could reduce to half of original. It wasshown by the analyses of X-ray and electronmicroscope that the precipitation ofcarbides becomes more homogeneous and diffuse, and the tetragonality of martensiteincreases obviousely, that causes the hardness and red-hardness of the steel increas-ing. It was comfirmed by practice that undergone tempering in pulse magneticfield, the service life of centre bits, small screw taps and punches for nuts increasedby 0.4 to 1.4 times.

    Abstract   PDF (1815KB) ( 701 )
In the strengthened surface layer of stainless steel after shot peening, there are a great amount of deformation microtwins, which may act as structuralstrengthening and prevent the gradual relexation of surface residual stress duringfatigue, so as to keep its rather high level of bending fatigue strength. However,in the strengthened surface layer of low carbon steel, dislocation cell structure isso unstable during fatigue that its surface residual stress relexation cannot be retard-ed. Therefore, the bending fatigue strength of the low carbon steel does not beimproved by shot peening.

The transformation of upper bainite of normalized 55SiMnMo steel during temper-ing has been studied by optical microscopy, X-ray difffaction, transmission electron microscopyand differential scanning calorimetry. Ferrite plate surface is parallel to ferrite {110} and isthe coherent interface for α and γ, the crystallographic relationship is (111)_γ(011)α. Thesmall plate surface of Fe_3C precipitated during tempering is parallel to (100). The strengthen-ing mechanizm for carbon-rich austenite in normalized condition is primarily uniform solid so-lution hardening, however, in the tempered state, it is strengthened chiefly by non-uniform one.

The interaction parameters of Ca, Ti and Mg in the Sn-based dilutesolution have been determined at 1500℃. Experimental measurements were taken byequilibrating the systems composed of the same component slags and various compo-nents Sn-based alloys with metallic Sn as flux and graphite as reducing agent un-der Ar atmosphere mixed with different portions of CO. It was found that a con-siderable error would be ommitted owing to neglect of the parameters ε_(Ca)~(Ca), ε_(Mg)~(Mg) andε_(Tl)~(Tl) in the Sn melts when the activities of the components CaO, MgO and TiO_2 inthe slags were estimated by this method.

The magnetic moment and the magnetostriction decrease slightly withthe increase of totel Si + B content. A maximum of the Curie temperature appears atabout 25 at.-% of Si + B. The magnetic anisotropy is uninfluential by the content ofSi + B, but much influence by the demagnetization effect of streak. A qualitativeexplanation of the experimental phenomenon seems to be noted by aid of the elec-tron transition and structure model of amorphous alloy.
