Abstract  The microstructure in 7050 Al alloy under heat treatment regime T74 has been studied by means of TEM and dynamical diffraction simulation. The alloy is found to contain mainly Al_3Zr superlattice phase, η′precipitate phase ard Al_?-Cu_? Fe constituent phase. The η′phase has a C-face centered orthorhombic crystal structure with a=0.492 nm, b=0.852 nm and c=0.701 nm. The orientation relation- ship between η′phase and matrix is determined as (101)_m//(010)_(η′), [111]_m//[001]_(η′).
