Abstract After combining investigation of thermodynamic properties of binary metallic melts, molten slags, molten salts and mattes with their phase diagrams, it has been found that in case of identical or similar phase diagrams, the calculating models of mass action concentrations of different metallurgical melts are identical (consistency) in the major cases, and similar (similarity)in the minor cases.
