Abstract  The ferrite/austenite interfacial structure in lower bainite has beenstudied in a hypereutectoid steel by means of electron microscopy. It is found thatmobile growth ledges and superledges and their three-dimensional morphologies existat the broad faces of ferrite plates in lower bainite, and that growth ledges can alsoevolve from structural ledges. These provide evidence to the ledge growth mechanismof lower bainite.
