Abstract  Stress-induced DO_3→2H and DO_3→18R martensitic transformations of CuAlNi single crystal in a temperature range of M_s< T< A_f are studied in situ by use of an optical microscope. The temperature dependence of critical stresses and the transformation entropies are determined and compared with differential scanning calorimeter. The thermodynamic functions of DO_3→2H, DO_3→18R and 2H→18R transformations near 300 K are deduced.
