Abstract Effect of Sn on the glass-forming ability of liquid quenched Cu_(74)Ni_(12-x)Sn_xP_(14) alloys has been studied by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. Suitable addition of Sn, saying x=2-6 at.-%, may improve the glass forming ability till a complete amorphous structure of the alloy. Expermental facts were also considered from aspects of dynamics of phase transition and structural chemistry.
