Abstract TiN inclusions are the major inclusions in Ti-stabilized stainless steels.The content and distribution of them closely depend on the casting process. TiN is akind of buoyant inclusions and can grow up gradually in molten steel during float-ing up. The sequence of the formation of inclusions in the steel is: oxides, nitridesand sulfides
