Abstract The characteristics and the formation of the V-Ti miscible particles in V-Ti-Nmicroalloyed steels were studied. It has been found that the vanadium to form V-Ti miscibleparticles starts to precipitate after pouring and cooling to temperatures below 1150℃ by meansof the epitaxial precipitation on the pre-existing titanium nitrides. The vanadium content in theparticles is markedly influenced by cooing rate solidification.
