INFLUENCE OF ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRING ON DENDRITIC STRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LOW SULPHUR STEEL. Acta Metall Sin, 1990, 26(4): 83-86.
Abstract The melt flow induced by the electromagnetic stirring in the molten low sulphursteel may fine the original austenite grains, but widen the secondary dendritic arm spacings. As a result, the ultimate tensile strength of the steel will be improved and the reduction ofarea will be remarkably decreased. The microalloying by an addition of Ce may retard the un-favourable effect of the electromagnetic stirring.
