Abstract  The temperature dependence of solubility of Nb in carbon saturatedliquid iron in the temperature range of 1300--1500℃ was determined as lg[%Nb]_(max)=-5899/T+3.28. To avoid the interference of NbC precipitation, a diffusion equili-brium method, newly developed, was adopted. The reliability of measurement withthe new method was supported by an experiment made sure of the precipitation ofsupersaturated NbC.
