Abstract In virtue of Auger electron spectroscopy, it is found that the level of grain-boundary P segregation in GH4169 superalloy increases with the increase in solution treatment temperature. Based on this, the characteristic of NGS of P in superalloy is confirmed for the first time. The confirmation provides new theoretical and experimental basis for understanding the influence of P on mechanical properties of superalloys.
