Abstract Traditional solidification square root law is not fit for describing solidification process of round bloom and square bloom. A new solidification formula of round bloom, was deduced, which is also fit for the solidification process of square bloom, so it is called solidification law of round and square blooms. The correctness of the above formula was verified by the experiment result.
