Abstract  α-Fe2O3 ultrafine particles prepared with precipitation method were treated to form nanocrystals at various presures or temperatures, and their microstructures were studied by means of X-ray and Mbssbauer spectroscopy. The results indicate that high pressure affects mainly the structures of surface of micrograins and interface in nanocrystalline materials.
