Abstract The structure of white iron treated with Si-Bi-Al complex inoculanthas been observed by means of SEM and TEM. The results show that, in compari-son with the samples treated with ordinary inoculants, disorder, overlapping andinflexion of the pearlitic lamella appear, besides, the dislocation density increasesapparently. The graphitization can be quickly realized at the temperature lower thanthat of austenitic transition (720℃)
