Abstract An approach was made theoretically to the load spectrum for the drill rod under striking. A source programme has been written to computer the drilling load oscillogram of a striking-penetrating system. The theoretical estimation of the fatigue life of the drill rod is carried out bY analyzing the rule and constitution of the load spectrum and its influence on the surplus life of drill rod.
