Abstract The tensile behaviour of Ni_3Al-Mo alloy, prepared by directional soli-dification, was examined at the strain rates 3.3×10~(-3), 3.3×10~(-4) and 3.3×10~(-5) s~(-1)respectively, in the range from room temperature to 1273 K. The yield stress isfound to increase with raising of temperature, and reaches to a maximum at973 K. During tensile deformation, the Mo fibres act as retardation of dislocationmovement and restraint of plastic deformation.
