Abstract Based on the Miedema model and Tanaka equation, a new method for calculating the parameter of the Molecular Interaction Volume Model(MIVM) has been developed to get the activity coefficient of multi-component liquid alloys. The predicted activity coefficients of components in Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-5Al-2.5Sn and Zn-Sn-Pb-Cd-Bi alloys present a good agreement with the experimental data.
