Abstract  The composite TiCw-AlNp/Al was prepared by a method of in situ solid-vapour-liquid state reaction under certain appropriate cooling conditions, in which the distribution and reinforcement of the TiC whiskers were discussed. The stereoscopic feature and space distribution of the TiC whiskers in the partially corroded TiCw-AlNp / Al composite matrix were observed under SEM.
