Abstract Single notched specimens,charged dynamically with hydrogen,were tested under ten- sion.It was shown that the hydrogen induced crack is propagated macroscopically along the grain boundary,but the fracture is revealed on fraetograph as along the cleavage planes immediately vicinal to the grain boundary.It seems to explain the above mentioned hardly by tde decohesive theory other than the mechanism of hydrogen facilitated cleavage pro- posed by the authors.
