Abstract The influence of certain alloying elements such as Rh, Au, Mo, W, Zr andHf on the activation energy of creep of platinum alloys at high temperatures hasbeen investigated. The presence of Rh, Zr or/and Hf in the alloys might causean increment of their activation energy of creep but W, Mo or/and Au mightdecrease them. Based on the behaviour of these alloying elements, the mechanismof the creep rupture of the platinum alloys has been discussed.
