Abstract The internal adsorption of zirconium in molybdenum alloys containing titanium andits effect on the recrystallization temperture and high temperature strength were studied. It is shown that in Mo-0.5% Ti alloys, zirconium has a strong tendency to segregate at thegrain boundaries of molybdenum, and as a result, the recrystallization temperature, hothardness and compressive creep strength of the alloys are markedly increased. Thefunction of zirconium in raising the recrystallization temperature and high temperaturestrength is discussed. And it is believed that the internal adsorption of zirconium mayaccount for its beneficial strengthening effects in molybdenum alloys.
