Abstract Effects of electric field annealing on plastic strain ratio (r value) of IF deep drawing steel sheet were studied by mean of tensile test. The results show that electric field annealing improves the average plastic strain ratio ( value). This is due to the fact that the electric field annealing reinforces the γ-fiber texture and weakens the a-fiber texture that deteriorated the plastic strain ratio.
