Abstract An investigation on the rolling and recrystallization textures of nickel has beencarried out. After different reductions, the transformation of the rolling texture and themagnetostriction of the cube-textured material are studied. The change of length of thecube-textured specimens in a magnetic field is similar to that of a single crystal in [100]direction; as the percentage of reduction increases, the magnetostriction is more difficultto reach saturation.
