Abstract The Ni_5Hf phase in hafnium-bearing nickle-base cast superalloys has beenexamined. It was found hat the reactions occurring in this series of alloys mightbe described as follows:Ni_5Hf+γ(C)-MC)_(2)+γor '(Hf)+γ(C)-MC_(2)+γThe effects of these reactions on the stability of the alloys have been discussed.
