Abstract The stress-strain plot and microstructure of 51.6 at.-% Ni-Ti shape-memory alloywere examined and observed under different heat treatments.The phenomena andpossible machanism o f Premartensitic transition,the morphology and substructureof martensite induced by temperature or strain as well as the dispersed χ-phase pre-cipitation of the alloy were also discussed.
