Abstract The environment-sensitive fracture behaviour of 0Cr18Ni9Ti austeniticstainless steel in boiling 42% MgCl_2 under the specific load of low frequency andhigh mean stress was investigated from the relations and differences on crack gro-wth rates and fractographys between stress corrosion fatigue and stress corrosioncracking. The interaction between stress corrosi on cracking and corrosion fatiguewas also studied from fracture characteristics, with emphasison the effect of appliedpotential on the interaction.
