Abstract Phase relation of the system Na_2O-Ga_2O_3 containing more than 50mol%Ga_2O_3 was investigated by DTA and room temperature X-ray powder diffraction an-alyses. It was found that four compounds Na_2O·Ga_2O_3, 2Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3, Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 and Na_2O·5Ga_2O_3 exist in the system. The compound 2Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 decom-poses to Na_2O·Ga_2O_3 and Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 at temperature above 976±8℃. Na_2O·Ga_2O_3, Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 and Na_2O·5Ga_2O_3 melt all incongruently at 1382±1℃, 1285±5℃ and 1417±4℃ respectively. The previously unindexed X-ray diffraction data for2Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 and Na_2O·3Ga_2O_3 are reported.
