Abstract  Fracture toughness was determined for various thickness, B=20—120mm, of compact tension specimens of a cast Mg alloy ZM5 according to ASTM E399—78. A proposal could be thus made to the relaxation of P_(max)/P_Q from≤1.1 to ≤1.6 for this alloy.
