Abstract The influences of Fe(CO)5 thermal decomposition temperature (iron nitriding temperature), the flow of NH3 and surface activated agent on the preparation of nitride iron magnetic fluid were discussed. The result shows that the appropriate Fe(CO)5 theraml decomposition temperature is 180 to 210℃. Excessive NH3 and surface activated agent suitable to nanometer iron nitride magnetic particle and carrier liquid are necessary to preparing nitride iron magnetic with favorable property.
