Abstract The corrosion fatigue propagation behaviours of low carbon martensitic steels20Cr2Ni4 and 20SiMnMoV have been investigated in 3.5%NaCl solution spray. The fatigue growthrates of two steels in salt spray are much higher than those in air under low △K range. A crit-ical stress intensity factor range has been observed for each steel. The crack prowth stoppagewill occure if the △K value was lower than it.
