Abstract The major phases in the Cu-rich alloys containing Co. Cr and Si are α-Cu (asolid solution of Co. Cr and Si in Cu). X-phase (Co_5Cr_3Si_2) and Co_2Si. In comparison with ref-erence sample, it was detected that the Co_5Cr_3Si_2 is of cubic system, α-Mn type and α=0.8694nm. The melting temperatures of X-phase and the alloy are higher than that of pure Cu. name-ly, 1535 and 1389 K respectively. During aging treatment, the Co_2Si phase precipitates out fromα-Cu and X-phase simutaneously, but the hardening effect is mainly contributed by the precipi-tation from α-Cu.
