Abstract The effect of various regimes of heat treatment on the resistance and ther- moelectromotive force of AuPd_(38.6)Cr_3 and AuPb_(36.6)Cr_8 alloys as well as the rela- tionship between their properties and structure have been investigated. The room temperature resistivity of these alloy specimens after annealing at different tem- peratures increases and maximizes at 450 and 850℃,but decreases with cold wor- king.As the cold worked specimen aged at 400 and 480℃ two peaks were ob- served on the resistivity plot and X-ray relative intensities vs time curve, while two plateaus were found on the thermoelectromotive force curve. All the pheno- mena appear correspondingly on the time axis.It seems that this anomalous behaviour is closely related to the special clusters forming in the super-saturated solid solution.
