Abstract  The ductile-brittle transition temperature, T_B, of certain Fe-, Pd-and Ni-base glasses as wel as Pd_(80)Si_(20) and Cu_(57)Zr_(43) has been determined. The influence of the transition metals and metalloid contained on T_B and the relationship between TT-T-diagram and the transition behaviour have also been investigated. On the basis of the kinetics of their transition, the evaluation of their own activation energies and the proposal of their electron concentration dependence are presented.
