EFFECT OF ALLOYING ELEMENTS ON γ′SOLVUS TEMPERATURE OF Ni-BASE SUPERALLOYS

Abstract  38 Ni-base experimental alloys were prepared with variation of thealloying elements over the following nominal ranges (in wt-%): Al 1.0--6.5, Ti0.0--5.5, W 0.0----11.0, Mo 0.0--8.0, Nb 0.0--4.5, Ta 0.0--4.0, V 0.0--1.3 andFe 0.0--9.0. In this investigation, γ' solvus temperature of these alloys were mea-sured and the effect of alloying elements were discussed. Relationship between γ'solvus temperature and alloy composition has been determined using regressionanalysis. The γ' solvus temperatures calculated by using this simple linear equationagree basically with those observed in 13 commercial Ni-base superalloys.
