STABILIZATION OF MARTENSITE AND PARENT PHASE ORDERING IN A Cu-Zn-Al ALLOY
CHEN Shuchuan;XU Zuyao T. Y. Hsu; YANG Fan Shanghai Jiaotong University; ZHANG Jihua Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy; Academia Sinica
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 5-10.
    Abstract   PDF (515KB) ( 694 )
The reverse transformation has never occurred in a quenched and agedspecimen heating from room temperature to 320℃ at which the martensite disap-pears thoroughly. Both B2?9R and DO_3?18R coexist in step-quenched and short-timeisothermally treated specimen. As prolonging the isothermally holding, the B2?9Rdisappears and DO_3?18R intensifies. B2?9R occurs only in specimen quenched andup-quenched immediately to 100--150℃. Rapid quenching from high temperaturewill depress the B2→DO_3 ordering but not the A2→B2 one. A more enough concen-tration of vacancy is a necessary condition of occurrence of B2→DO_3 ordering. Thepossible mechanism for stabilization of martensite in Cu-Zn-Al alloy was alsodiscussed.

SUN Yangshan;GUO Jun;ZHANG Lining;ZHANG Jinping Southeast University; Nanjing
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 11-16.
    Abstract   PDF (2380KB) ( 599 )
An addition of small amount Ce to Fe_3Al increases significantly theroom temperature strength, and a mixed addition of Ce and Cr improves both strengthand ductility. The fracture mode of Fe_3Al containing Ce is a mixed one of ap-proximately 70% transgranular cleavage and 30% intergranular failure. The disloca-tions observed are mainly single ones with b=1/4a′_0<111> in the deformed specimensof bare binary Fe_3Al, but a number of super-lattice dislocations in that with Cradded.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 17-20.
    Abstract   PDF (1325KB) ( 499 )
The microstructure of the laser melted and resolidified layer on highspeed tool steel W_(18)Cr_4V observed is of very fine dendrites. The δ-ferrite remainsin the centre of part of the dendrites. The interior of dendrite is the twinned mar-tensite and a few dislocation martensite. M_(23)C_6 carbide along twin plane on twinnedmartensite may coherently precipitate as thin plate. The austenite enriched with al-loying elements as W, V and Cr, and M_6C carbide are found among the dendritearms.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 26-29.
    Abstract   PDF (533KB) ( 513 )
The effect of hydrogen on flow stress, strain rate sensitivity and elong-ation at high temperature for Ti-6Al-4V alloy has been investigated. When hydro-gen content is within a certain proper range, both the flow stress and the tempera-ture of superplasticity are decreased with only a small change of strain rate sensiti-vity exponent. The ductility is improved in the temperature 800--860℃.

EFFECT OF TEMPERING ON SHEAR MODULUS OF Fe-Mn BASE ALLOYS
TAN Yanchang;ZHAO Yuhua;WEI Suning Northeast University of Technology; Shenyang
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 30-33.
    Abstract   PDF (369KB) ( 553 )
The plot of relative change of shear modulus vs temperature for as-tempered Fe-Mn base alloy containing Cr and Ti reveals a minimum and a maxi-mum, while for the alloy containing Cr, Ni, W and C, a maximum only. These seemdue to that the alloying elements Ni, W and C decrease the transition point of an-timagnetization. The change of shear modulus resulted from mechanical linear mag-netostriction may be gradually increased with the increase of tempering temperatureor the prolongation of tempering time.

DEFORMATION AND ITS EFFECT ON STRENGTHENING OF COLD-DRAWN PLAIN STEEL WIRES
    SHI Deke;LIU Junhai;HAO Hongqi Xi'an Jiaotong University
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 34-37.
    Abstract   PDF (1463KB) ( 642 )
During cold-drawing of plain steel wires, the fine lamellar cementitealtered into a ductile phase with feasible deformability. A lot of ledges, which mayemit the dislocations, are found along the Fe_3C/Fe interface. This seems to be oneof the causes for formation of greater dislocation density along the Fe_3C/Fe inter-face during deformation. There was enough evidence to prove that the dislocationcut through Fe_3C. Therefore, it is necessary to consider its effect on strengthening.

    Abstract   PDF (1190KB) ( 563 )
To add Sn or Sb to the high induction oriented silicon steel may beable to refine its primary and secondary recrystallize grain size, to improve itssecondary recrystalline structure and magnetic properties. After the steel with anadditive Sn or Sb undergone cold-rolling and decarburizing annealing, the texturecomponents of {110}<115> and {110}<001>, which is beneficial to developing thesecondary recrystallization, are enhanced. Hence, the amount of the secondary grainnuclei may be increased and the size reduced.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 43-48.
    Abstract   PDF (468KB) ( 390 )
The open load of notch crack of the axle steel was determined by themethod of crack-tip strain gauge in compliance technique, and on the basis of thecyclic stress-strain plot, calculated by the analysis of the stress-strain field aheadof crack-tip with aid of the ADINA non-linear finite element program as well. Bothresults are identical. A proposal of sensitive point, on which a strain gauge wasalready attached, was made as the key to determine open load. The measured andcalculated results certified that the sensitive point is the position of best linear andmore great strain ahead of crack tip.

INFLUENCE OF HIGH TEMPERATURE REPRESSING ON P SEGREGATION IN 93W-4.5Ni-2.5Fe ALLOY
LI Zhi;XI Jukui;YANG Yunlin Luoyang Institute of Technology
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 59-63.
    Abstract   PDF (1115KB) ( 558 )
The influence of high temperature repressing on the P segregation in93W-4.5Ni-2.5Fe alloy has been examined by Auger spectroscopy, EPMA, TEM andSEM. The P was observed to segregate along the W-W interface, especially the W-matrix boundaries, in specimens aged at 1200--1500℃, F.C., but it will be no moreafter repressed. The dislocations in the matrix of as-repressed alloy seem to be influ-ential directly on the segregation of P onio interface. The mechanical propertiesmay decrease with the interfacial segregation of P in the annealed specimens.

FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF CARBURIZED STEEL BEFORE CRACK INITIATION
CHEN Tjequn Wuhan Institute of Technolgy; VERPOEST I; DERUYTTERE A Department of Metallurgy; Katholieke Universiteit; Leuven; Belgium
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 64-66.
    Abstract   PDF (301KB) ( 454 )
The fatigue behavior prior to crack initiation of carburizing steel undergone quench-ing and tempering was observed under tension-tension fatigue test. The steel experiencescoexistence of fatigue softening in the case and fatigue hardening in the core. A transition re-gion near the case depth of the steel divides the whole cross section of a round specimen intotwo parts: the fatigue softening part outwards and the fatigue hardening part inwards. Bothmay be intensified with the increase of the applied maximum cyclic stress and the number ofcycles.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 67-70.
    Abstract   PDF (1380KB) ( 519 )
The creep fracture behaviour of intermetallic compound (Fe_(60)Ni_(40))_3(V_(98)Ti_2) hasbeen studied under 187, 200, 215 and 248 MPa at 923 K. The variation of dislocation substruc-ture is observed with TEM in the process of steady-state creep. It is found that there existsa large amount of stacking faults, dislocation pairs and also high density dislocation networks.SEM analysis of section near fracture surface points out that intergranular crack due to coale-scence of small cavities is the main creep fracture mechanism of intermetallic compound(Fe_(60)Ni_(40))_3(V_(98)Ti_2).

INFLUENCE OF MnO ON REDUCTION OF TiO_2 IN Ti-CONTAINING SLAG OF BLAST FURNACE TYPE
DU Hegui;ZOU Anhua Northeast University of Technology; Shenyang
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 73-79.
    Abstract   PDF (605KB) ( 653 )
Studies were carried out of the formation of Ti(C,N) during smelting V-bearing titanomagnetite in blast furnace and the influence of MnO content on reductionof TiO_2 in the high titania containing slag. The reduction of TiO_2 is restricted byMnO predominantly at the slag/metal interface and no more at the slag/coke one. Both the MnO content about 4% and the basicity from 0.6 to 1.2 in slag may re-markably restrict the formation of Ti(C,N). MnO may also retard the reduction ofSiO_2 and accelerate the desulphidation under certain condition.

MECHANISM OF EXTRACTION AND STRIPPING OF Fe(Ⅲ) WITH PRIMARY AMINE N1923 AS EXTRACTANT AND n-OCTANE AS DILUENT
LIU Huizhou;YU Shuqiu;CHEN Jiayong Institute of Chemical Metallurgy; Academia Sinica; Beijing
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 84-87.
    Abstract   PDF (394KB) ( 617 )
Mechanism of extraction of Fe(Ⅲ) from sulphate solution by primaryamine N1923 and stripping of Fe loaded organic phase with dilute H_2SO_4 was inves-tigated. The organic phase was characterized by FT-IR and photon correlation spec-troseopy. The composition of extracted species as well as the content of H_2O inorganic phase were determined. The dependency of both the rate of extraction andstripping on the formation of reverse micelle in primary amine (N1923) system hasbeen confirmed. It is shown that the extraction of Fe(Ⅲ) by primary amine sulpha-te may be related to the adduct formation or cation exchange reaction under differ-ent concentrations of H_2SO_4 in aqueous solution.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 100-104.
    Abstract   PDF (358KB) ( 471 )
The structure and transport properties in molten NaF have been studi-ed using the method of molecular dynamics simulation. The calculations are basedon two models of interionic potentials, which are Femi-Tosi potential (FT) and theFemi-Tosi potential without Van der Waals attractive item (FT′). The radial distri-bution function (RDF) and the Na~+ and F~- selfdiffusion coefficients have been cal-culated. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. The calculation shows that the two models give nearly identical radial distributionfunction and self-diffusion coefficient, but the results of FT potential are a littlebetter than those of FT′potential.

A MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION OF CRYSTAL GROWTTH RATE DURING CRYSTALLIZATION OF AMORPHOUS ALLOYS
LU Ke;WANG Jingtang National Laboratory of RSA; Institute of Metal Research; Academia Sinica; Shenyang
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 105-110.
    Abstract   PDF (484KB) ( 608 )
A mathematical expression of the crystal growth rate during crystalli-zation of the amorphous alloys was derived from the micromechanism of crystalli-zation newly developed by the authors. Thus, the satisfactory explanation of theexperimental results obtained by Nunogaki et al., Heimendahl et al. and the authorsmight be found. It seems also to be modelled with the expression for the crystalgrowth and the crystal size influenced by time during the crystallization of amor-phous Ni-P alloy foil at in situ heating. Based on the expression, the factors influ-encing the crystal growth rate, such as temperature, time and microstructure of am-orphous alloys, have been discussed.

CORROSION FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH OF HIGH TENSILE STEEL HT60 IN SYNTHETIC SEA WATER
GAO Hongbin Harbin Shipbuilding Engineering Institute
    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 121-126.
    Abstract   PDF (688KB) ( 460 )
The corrosion fatigue crack growth and near-threshold characteristcsof high tensile steel HT60 were investigated by using the compact specimens underexposure to synthetic sea water. The da/dN vs △K_(eff) relation in air may be conser-vetivel estimated for that in sea water. In the high △K region with high stressratio, owing to the acceleration of crack growth promoted by stress-induced dissol-ution, the crack opening stress intensity factor K_(op) represents only the result ofcrack surface in contact with corrosion products, so as to give an overestimation ofK_(op) at crack tip.

    Abstract   PDF (2888KB) ( 629 )
The Al-2.79Li-1.3Cu-0.7Mg-0.12Zr(8090 Al-Li) alloy has excellent re-sistance to intergranular and exfoliation corrosion as naturally aged, worst as peakaged and rather better as underaged than as overaged. The corrosion behaviour ofthe alloy is closely dependent on its microstructure. Under the peak aging condition, the coarse T_2 phase, which is continuously distributed along grain boundary, has solow corrosion potential in comparison with matrix, that makes the corrosion resis-tance of the alloy to be deteriorated by anodic dissolution along grain boundary.

    Acta Metall Sin, 1991, 27 (4): 151-154.
    Abstract   PDF (355KB) ( 455 )
An explanation of redistribution of impurity atoms, such as Al, Si Mn and Cu,in pure Ni during lower speed laser melting was made on the basis of proposed analysis mo-del for one-dimension heat transfer, The redistribution of solute along solid-liquid interfaceseems to be the principal reason why the impurity atoms redistributed in depth. The diffusionof the impurity atoms from low to high temperature zone and their selective surface evapora-tion are believed to be noticeably contributed to the distribution.
